Broadway Fast 5: January

1. Cast list!
As Broadway gets ready for a busy spring season, full casting has been announced for War Paint, Bandstand and Anastasia. We couldn’t be more excited to see Christine Ebersole (who was here in 2016), Laura Osnes, Corey Cott and the one and only Patti LuPone (who was here in 2013) back on Broadway!
2. La La Land has deep Broadway ties and a lengthy list of award nominations
Benj Pasek and Justin Paul might not yet be household names, as but the composers of A Christmas Story the Musical, Dogfight and the new Broadway hit Dear Evan Hansen, the duo has created buzz. Now, as composers of “La La Land”, starring Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling and one of the most nominated movies of the year, their music is taking center stage.
3. Jersey Boys says bye, bye baby
After playing 4,642 performances on Broadway, Jersey Boys came to a close on January 15. The show will still tour and be playing on the West End but its goodbye to Broadway for now.
4. BroadwayCon brings fans and Broadway favorites together
The second annual BroadwayCon kicked off January 27. From costume contests to previews of upcoming productions, performances, roundtables and much more, you can catch up on everything you missed here.
5. The ultimate Broadway Riff-Off
It was trending for days, but in case you missed it, Neil Patrick Harris and James Corden had a pretty epic Broadway Riff-Off that will have you singing along.  Here’s the video.
