Meet your student ambassadors: Kayli (by Lily)
The following article was written by Center Stage High School Musical Theater Program Student Ambassador Lily, in collaboration with the Fox Cities Performing Arts Center.
Everyone, meet Kayli! She is a junior at Oshkosh North and one of your Center Stage student ambassadors! I had the absolute pleasure of interviewing Kayli and getting to know more about who she is.
While interviewing Kayli, I learned that she is such a talented person. Her sophomore year, she actually made it to state for her cello solo! And fun fact, she has been playing the cello for nine years. She says that it is one of her biggest passions.
Not only is she super talented playing the cello, but she is also a truly amazing Stage Right manager! She was co-stage managers with one of our other Center Stage Ambassadors, Kaisten, at Oshkosh North!
She was super excited to take on her new role as a stage manager in “Catch Me If You Can” in February, and hopes she was able to inspire others to have the courage to take on the role after she graduates, like the stage crew members before her inspired her.
Speaking of inspiration, Kayli said one person really stands out.
While talking with Kayli, I realized how even though she is backstage for her high school performances, if there was ever a chance to perform as Euridyce in Hadestown, she wouldn’t mind stepping in.
I absolutely love that musical, and it was fun finding out that we have something in common.
She said she would love to play Euridyce because of the complexity of her character.
I don’t want to forget to add how excited Kayli is for Hadestown to come back with most of the Original Broadway cast in the West End Version, and she said that if anyone has an extra ticket, she would absolutely love to go!
I also asked Kayli what she hoped to get out of the Student Ambassador Program.
Looking at all the shows in the 2024-25 Broadway Across America – Fox Cities Series Season, Kayli was super excited to see the “Lion King”! She mentioned how she is always just so blown away from all the costumes and the music. She also added that seeing the performers’ hard work on stage and off stage truly makes the experience so much better.
Whenever Kayli is at the theater she also loves being able to see people’s faces in the audience, especially their reactions if they had never seen the show before. She stated that when the performers walk on the stage, it creates such an awe and such an amazing atmosphere.
Well, I hope you enjoyed learning about Kayli! I had an amazing time getting to know her a bit more, and I hope you did too!
