Meet your student ambassadors: Lily (by Kayli)

February 24, 2025

The following article was written by Center Stage High School Musical Theater Program Student Ambassador Kayli, in collaboration with the Fox Cities Performing Arts Center.

Everyone, meet Lily! She is a senior at New London High School. I had the amazing privilege to interview Lily and get a closer look at her life. Come with me as we get to learn more about her!

While interviewing Lily, I discovered she is very active in her school’s music department. Not only was she in New London High School’s choir but she’s also in their band and show choir. Though Lily is very involved in the music department, she still finds time to be involved within her school community. She is a part of New London High School’s Student Council, FFA, Principal Advisory Council, Battle of the Books, DECA, and B.E.S.T Club, and she is even a manager of her school’s store, Percy’s Pro Shop.

Even though Lily enjoys her other clubs, she has a special place in her heart for musical theater. Lily was honored to perform in New London High School’s production of Guys and Dolls this November as General Matilda B. Cartwright. She had a blast performing with her friends one last time before she graduates this spring.

To find out more about why she loves theater so much, I asked how she got into theater, and her response was very heartwarming.

“The thing that got me into theater was my mom. From a very young age, she has helped input music into my life, whether it was singing with her in church or watching ‘The Sound of Music’ every year as a bonding day.”

Although Lily’s love for musical theater was sweet, her favorite musical was very unexpected.

“My favorite musical is Shrek the Musical. I know most people don’t like this musical, but I am obsessed with it!” Lily said.

While her favorite musical may come as a shock to some, I think many people will be able to relate to her dream of playing Christine Daaé from Phantom of the Opera.

Lily hopes to use the P.A.C. Center Stage Ambassador Program to expand her leadership skills and creativity.

“I hope to become a better leader and become more confident in myself. But also I hope to gain some friends in the program throughout my time as an ambassador.”

To wrap up our interview in true Oshkosh North Choir fashion, I asked Lily what her all-time favorite cereal was.

“My favorite cereal is ‘Captain Crunch!’ Mainly because I love all the colors, and it is just so tasty,” said Lily.

And I wholeheartedly agree!

I had an amazing time getting to know Lily a bit more, and I hope you did too!
