In the Fox Cities Performing Arts Center’s 20th Anniversary Season, we are celebrating and highlighting community, community who have welcomed live performing arts experiences to Northeastern Wisconsin and beyond. With the Broadway production of Jesus Christ Superstar kicking off the 2022-23 Season Broadway lineup, we’d like to take a moment to thank the Center’s Community Partner, CR Meyer, for helping make this production possible. Tammy Malewski, the Marketing Coordinator for Oshkosh’s CR Meyer location, shared the history of CR Meyer and what the partnership with the Center means.

Jesus Christ Superstar will be performing at the Fox Cities P.A.C. October 18-23, 2022. For times, to purchase tickets and more information, visit https://foxcitiespac.com/events-tickets/tickets/events/jesus-christ-superstar/jesus-christ-superstar.

CR Meyer is a heavy industrial general contractor with eight satellite offices across the country. They have been in business since 1888, when Charles R Meyer started his own stone masonry business. He incorporated that into a general contractor business upon successfully constructing the Bergstrom Paper Mill in Neenah in 1928. C.R. Meyer went on to establish an excellent reputation as the capable builders of many of the largest paper mills in Wisconsin and the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, plus dams, bridges and hydroelectric plants. Wealthy industrialists in Oshkosh also called on C.R. Meyer to construct their elegant and distinctive mansions, many of which remain landmarks of beautiful craftsmanship today. Numerous area churches and schools can also trace their roots to the Meyer family business.

Today, the legacy carries on, with CR Meyer regularly employing over 1,000 skilled union tradespeople across nine market sectors. They employ boilermakers, carpenters, concrete finishers, electricians, laborers, ironworkers, masons, millwrights, pile drivers and pipefitters. CR Meyer’s engineers, architects and project managers creatively partner with customers to design for optimum constructability to meet the customers most rigorous quality, budgetary and timeline objectives. Today we serve the Food and Beverage, Hydro/Power Generation, Mining, Converting/Printing/Plastics/Packaging, Oil/Gas, Pulp and Paper, Scrap and Recycling industries.

Reflecting on the partnership with the Center, Tammy shared, “We support the Fox Cities Performing Arts Center because of our true appreciation of the arts within our communities. We look forward to the Broadway Across America Series each year to attend the talented performances with our customers and our CR Meyer Team.”

CR Meyer knows that for many, the favorite part of attending a show is making it a “family affair”. Tammy added, “We invite our customers and their family to a premiere event each year with our staff and their families. We create a fun and special evening for everyone to enjoy. As a bonus, the staff of the Fox Cities Performing Arts Center will always go above and beyond to give their guests a special experience.”

To Tammy, the Center is truly a multicultural gathering place for the community. By spending time with friends and family while experiencing live performances, meaningful memories are created. She stated, “Consider supporting the Center. From the Broadway Across America Series, to the singing, dancing and diverse programming, there is something for everyone!”

Tammy shared some final thoughts: “The Center has impacted our CR Meyer Family by engaging with those we work with and their families with amazing performances for all ages.”
