Though her trajectory to the Broadway stage didn’t follow the “usual” plan, Jessica wouldn’t change a thing. Starting out in finance, she made the decision to pivot and take a leap of faith by auditioning on her own. “I did everything I could to try and get into rooms with people who were making decisions,” Jessica said. “It just so happens that after a few years of pounding the pavement, a casting director remembered me from a random call, and brought me in for what became my Broadway debut in The Bridges of Madison County.” Since her debut in 2014, Jessica has continued to hustle and establish a successful career as a Broadway performer and solo artist. “I am a firm believer that no matter how much success one might have at any given moment, it could go away at any given moment,” she remarked. “Because of that, I remain very grateful for every single Broadway moment that has come my way.”
Creating a diverse portfolio, Jessica continues to expand her talents in a variety of media. Jessica recently lent her voice to the character Lute in Prime Video’s new adult comedy musical animated show, “Hazbin Hotel”. She has also appeared in a few TV series including “Schmigadoon!” and “East New York.” You can even hear her vocals in the hit animated Disney film, “Frozen II.” Currently, Jessica is creating two new roles in upcoming Broadway shows.
Jessica has performed at various venues including Carnegie Hall where she made her debut in November 2021, which she describes as still feeling like a “fever dream.” She has enjoyed the opportunity to create a few solo concerts and take them on tour. “I have never been a person who has a particular genre of music that I relate to the most, so that’s why most of my shows are an amalgam of different genres,” Jessica shared. “Interestingly enough, they all mold to each other very well as far as storytelling is concerned.”
Upon her return to the Center, Jessica is most excited about connecting with audience members. For her, the audience is just as important as the show itself. Her goal is to help everyone feel connected to the experience, feeling the power of the music and stories. Audiences will enjoy a bit of comedy and behind-the-scenes stories shared by Jessica.
