Meet Center Stage Student Ambassadors, Greta, Lilly and Molly

February 13, 2024

Student Ambassadors, Greta from Green Bay East High School, Lilly from Southern Door High School and Molly from Kaukauna High School, are student ambassadors for the 2023-24 Center Stage High School Musical Theater Program. Greta, Lilly and Molly have shared their experiences with the program and written this blog as guest writers of the Fox Cities Performing Arts Center.

Students selected as student ambassadors are passionate about and excited to learn more about theater. Student ambassadors take on many duties, including attending meetings and interactive Center Stage Program workshops, Instagram takeovers (posting live updates at performance they are attending), blogs, interviews and Showcase presentations. As a once-in-a-lifetimes opportunity, all of us are overjoyed to have been selected as student ambassadors, having the chance to represent the Center Stage Program.

Greta:
Greta is a senior at Green Bay East High School who shares a love of theater with her fellow student ambassadors. This love began when she and her mom started making annual trips to the theater to see The Nutcracker. Greta knew that she needed to explore the theater world more.

She has performed in various musical productions including as an ensemble member in the Leader of the Pack and St. Norbert College’s Next Stage production of Brigadoon, Mrs. Tottendale in The Drowsy Chaperone and Les in Newsies. Recently, Greta starred as Mrs. Wormwood in Green Bay East High School’s production of Roald Dahl’s Matilda the Musical in November 2023 and put her photography skills to use as the show’s photographer. Greta is also involved with five extra-curricular activities including Academic Decathlon, Show Choir, Vocal Jazz, spring play and the Vocal Strand of the Fine Arts Institute.

The opportunity to go behind-the-scenes at the Fox Cities P.A.C. as a student ambassador greatly interested Greta. She is excited to use her experience in this role to make connections with other impassioned arts enthusiasts. In the future, Greta hopes to apply what she learns from the Student Ambassador Program to auditions for college, roles in productions and job opportunities.

Being able to interview/be interviewed successfully is one of the most important skills out there, especially in an industry where first impressions really matter!

Lilly:
A junior at Southern Door High School, Lilly is an extremely involved student. Lilly has performed on stage in The Addams Family and Joseph and The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. She recently starred as Michael Banks in Southern Door High School’s production of Disney and Cameron Mackintosh’s Mary Poppins. Additionally, she is involved in Southern Door High School’s Forensics team, Show Choir, Madrigal, Project 180, Student Council and National Honors Society. During the school year, Lilly also works at 21CCLC as a teacher with 5k, learning valuable skills she hopes to utilize in her future career.

I started my musical theater journey when I was 4 years old at Sturgeon Bay’s Third Avenue Playhouse. Ever since that experience, I fell in love with acting and theater.
Lilly - 2023-24 Center Stage Program Student Ambassador

As one of the many people who have found a love and passion for performing within the walls of the auditorium, Lilly has taken an interest in what happens on and off the stage. She has helped backstage with set build, makeup and social media management, driving her interest to become a student ambassador for the Center Stage Program. She hopes to transfer her learned skills from the Student Ambassador Program into her work with Southern Door High School’s Performance Arts social media pages. She also hopes to continue her performance career in the future and never shy away from cheering on castmates and providing uplifting advice.

Molly:
Molly is a junior at Kaukauna High School. Her love of theater sparked at the age of seven when she saw a local high school’s production of Grease. Ever since then, she has taken every opportunity to involve herself in community and school productions. Molly has taken on various roles in several of Kaukauna High School’s productions, including Mary Patrick in Sister Act, Elsa in Disney’s Frozen Jr. and Willamina Barfee in The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee.

Molly’s school involvement reaches beyond the theater and into several extra-curricular activities including Jazz Choir, Key Club, Diversity Club, Sources of Strength, LEAD and National Honors Society. Her dedication to helping others inspires her to provide donations to and volunteer at a local animal shelter, soup kitchen and homeless shelter.

One of the main reasons Molly became interested in the Center Stage High School Musical Theater Program was the opportunity to be a part of something larger than herself. In the future, Molly hopes that her role as student ambassador can help her become more extraverted and feel more comfortable when being interviewed. Molly hopes to study criminal psychology and sociology at Oxford, Durham or Cambridge. She then hopes to use her degree to pursue her dream of working as a criminal profiler for a private company in London. Alongside her career, Molly would like to continue her involvement in theater through community productions.
