Meet Jacob Massart, Center Stage Program Alum
Meet Jacob Massart, a 2022 alum of the Center Stage High School Musical Theater Program. Jacob was a participant in the Center Stage Program in the 2021-22 school year before graduating from Notre Dame Academy. In his senior year, Jacob was a representative for the program through the Student Ambassador Program.
During his time in the program, Jacob realized how much fun he should have while learning and growing. He enjoyed connecting with his peers and building a community of performers with them. “The aspect of community is essential to us as people, and I think that Center Stage Program does an amazing job of bringing students together that have a commonality that might be hard to find in their retrospective high schools: theater!” Jacob shared. “It allows students to participate in workshops that are fun, educational and community-building.”
Jacob’s favorite memory while being in the Center Stage High School Musical Theater Program goes back to the annual Showcase held in May. “It was a big day that had a lot of preparation leading up to it, and it’s forever just a great day I look back on,” Jacob remembered fondly. “I was a part of the Student Ambassador Program at that and was nominated in two categories, so there was a lot for me to pay attention to and moments to take in.”
As a senior in high school, Jacob applied to colleges across the country. He realized how much interest he had in the musical theater field while being a program participant. “When I’m able to take my education seriously while also finding it interesting and fun, I am able to excel a lot more because I find the joy within my work,” Jacob remarked. Following his dream of performing, Jacob is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in musical theater and a minor in dance at UW-Stevens Point.
